Lockheed Martin Aeronautics (C130J Wing Kits)
C130J wing components occupied over 50K square feet of Customer’s floor space.
Due to the introduction of new aircraft programs (F22 Raptor, F35 JSF, and P3 Orion) at its Marietta GA facility, Lockheed needed to free space for aircraft production lines, back shops, and warehouse space.
Expectations including consolidating the receipt, warehousing, and inventory of 62 aircraft structural wing components from three separate vendors.
With over 2300 built, the C-130 is the workhorse of military transport aircraft. It also has the distinction of being the longest continuous production of any military aircraft in history
They needed to kit and ship wing components in 7 configurations on custom fixtures for line-side presentation at Marietta facility shops on a “pull” basis. There was also a need for us to provide 24 hour turn of spare parts to ensure continuous operation of customer production line, as well as management of non-conforming product and maintenance of transport fixtures.
BONEAL coordinated the movement of over $30M in inventory from Marietta GA to BONEAL’s Powell County facility. During this transition period, BONEAL assumed responsibility for supply chain deliveries, established an inventory management interface on its propriety web-based portal B.net®, and began shipping kits. During the contract period BONEAL has achieved 100% quality and on-time delivery.
